W E L C O M E . . . to the Albuquerque Vipassana Sangha web site. We are a sangha in the Theravada Buddhist tradition. Our sittings and other gatherings are open to all. We always like to see new faces and old friends. Please join us!
Announcements
Eric Kolvig and Lila Kate Wheeler's retreat dharma talks open to all, October 4-7. Dharma talks will be held evenings during the retreat starting this weekend. Non-retreatants are welcome to attend the talks. You are also welcome to participate in the evening sitting and walking meditations. Here is the evening schedule:
        6:30-7:00: Sitting meditation
        7:00-7:30: Walking meditation
        7:30-8:15: Dharma talk
        8:15-8:45: Walking meditation
        8:45-9:15: Sitting meditation
Some important requests and other information:
  • Please take great care to maintain the silence of the retreat.
  • The main front door of the center will be unlocked from 6:15 pm until 7:45 pm. Please plan to arrive during this time period.
  • Be sure to arrive early enough to quietly find the meditation hall before the sitting or talk you plan to attend.
  • Our teachers are generously offering these talks free of charge and depend on our generosity for their livelihood, so please consider offering them dana. A dana basket will be in the entry area.
  • The retreat is at the Madonna Center, 4040 St. Joseph's Place NW, Albuquerque. Please see the retreat info for directions.

New beginner's class scheduled for three Saturday mornings beginning October 25. For more information see Beginner's Classes.
