April Suknot

April Suknot is a graduate student in computer science and is the current president of the UNM Computer Science Graduate Student Association. She works as a research assistant with Prof. Patrick Kelley whose work focuses on privacy and social networking. Her current project is a game to spread internet privacy, Immaculacy. Through studies conducted around the game she hopes to learn more about how average internet users conduct themselves online and how to optimize the educational aspects of the game. Immaculacy was presented at the first CHI Play conference last year in Toronto, Canada. April's research interests include gamification and games in education, as well as player experience in video games, character artificial intelligence, and the intersection of computer graphics and machine learning in character and level design.
