Search Technical Reports by ID

The format of the tech reports ID number is TR-CS-YYYY-NN, where YYYY is the four digit year and NN is the number, including leading zeroes. For the first tech report of 2004, the search would be "TR-CS-2004-01".

This searches only by ID. If you'd like, you can also search by researcher or search by keyword

A New Object-Oriented Stochastic Modeling Language
Dan Pless, George Luger, and Carl Stern

Third IASTED Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing (2000)

A new language and inference algorithm for stochastic modeling is presented. This work refines and generalizes the stochastic functional language originally proposed by Koller, McAllester, and Pfeffer (KMP). The language supports object-oriented representation and recursive functions. It provides a compact representation for a large class of stochastic models including infinite models. It provides the ability to represent general and abstract stochastic relationships and to decompose large models into smaller components. Our work extends the language of KMP by providing object encapsulation and reuse and a new and effective strategy for caching. An exact and complete inference algorithm is presented here that is expected to support efficient inference over important classes of models and queries.
