Andree's Cycling Page

Alright, so I'm never going to win the tour or anything, I'm just biking for fun and my own personal enjoyment, and I got myself a neat heart rate monitor with an altitudimeter, so hopefully there will soon be some plots and graphs about local rides around here. I'm not trying to substitute for the excellent cycling pages that are already around and linked to from my links page, but more as a log of personal experiences of rides... Some things that are definitely on the list to go here eventually are rides to Sandia Crest, and hopefully some century rides. Also, looking for a riding partner, so if you're intersted drop me line (email address available from the front page).

Ok, so the frame came in a few days ago, now my bike looks something like this:

Now I just need to find some time get out and ride again. I also wanted to recommend the excellent services of Two Wheel Drive in Albuquerque for their superb services.

Wooo... A new frame is on order. That took way too long! Can't wait to get back on the bike. Hopefully there will be some more updates here soon. It'll still be another week or so depending on when the frame comes in and how fast the parts can be assembled. Probably should have done this myself, but there's just not enough time for tinkering right now.

Major bike crash today. Not too much fun and bike broken. If you're interested in the details ask me. I won't post any pictures here, they are a little too explicit for public release. No updates here until I've gotten my bike fixed.

Here's a longer ride, back and forth along the bosque bike path, but then felt like I should do some climbing too, so headed over to Alameda and 2nd to connect over to Tramway. Right past the casino and up the hill, it's a good climb, first time for the season

Felt like a little climbing today, so I took off up Commance to Tramway, and then some of the hills up there, from Tramway up Indian School is a good climb, and then you can see the view and get a good run down from up top. Eventually I head out on Route 66, but it's fairly windy so I turn around in Tijeras. There's weird quirk out there, heading east on Rt 66, the first time you cross under I-40, the road looks like it's going downhill, but it's really about a 50ft climb. It's the weirdest feeling ever :)

Today's ride included a total of about 2100 ft of climbing

Alright, so it was finally time for the first "long" ride for the season. Feels like I've been a slacker for a few months, but now it's back on the bike again. Anyway, today was a warmup ride and ended up going about 35 miles around. It was also a trial run to see if the altitudimeter needed some calibration, and I guess it did since I supposedly ended up quite a few feet lower than where I started...

Anyway, it was nice but a little windy, not too much climbing today, I just wasn't really up for it, but overall all went well.
