Limitations of PSDoom It is easy, and even tempting, to kill the wrong process. Monsters (processes) kill each other. (read bullet) My font manager (xfstt) and one of my shell windows (bash) decided to kill each other, and within seconds I'll lose one of them. Sometimes, monsters kill each other in the game Doom, and I thought that this would not pose a serious problem in PSDoom. I thought that monsters would kill each other only in crowded rooms and this would be a regulatory mechanism to keep system load at safe levels. This is not as strange as it sounds - some operating systems resort to killing random processes when loads are too high. Unfortunately, the monsters are too hostile and have no sense of self-preservation. Now that I've given an overview of what PSDoom is like, I'll explore some of the features that made PSDoom so appealing.
