Introduction to Unix and the World Wide Web

Course Syllabus

CS 132 is a continuation of CS 131. It is principally aimed at extending Unix facility and developing web pages using Unix tools. Supplemental toipics include computing history, scientific applications and information encryption.

Why web pages? HTML offers an opportunity to learn a computer language in a motivational environment. Building on a foundation of the Unix features learned in CS 131, students can learn to write HTML code, embellish presentation with CSS style sheets and JavaScripts and manage their web page content.

Grades in the course are based performance on homework assignments and web page content.

The course runs for 5 weeks and counts for 1 CR.
