Unitarian Universalism

When I was 5, I came home from school and asked about God or Hell or something, and my parents decided that I needed to be raised in a church. My father and I looked at a number of churches in the Dallas area, and finally found Dallas North Unitarian Church. I joined when I turned 16.

In August of 1987, I attended SWUUSI, the Southwest District Summer Institute, for the first time. This event opened my eyes to the fact that there was a larger community of Unitarian Universalists than my church. I participated in YRUU (Young Religious UU) events through High School. In the Summer of 1990, I was in charge of the High School program at SWUUSI. I also served as part of the Youth Adult Council (YAC), and attended District wide meetings in Dallas and Arkansas.

I have been involved with Young Adult activities since I graduated from High School in 1991. I was involved with the creation of the Southwest District UUYAN (UU Young Adult Network) which is a part of the Continental UUYAN, C*UUYAN.

I am currently a member of the First UU Church, Albq. I'm active in the fUUn group there, an organization for Young Adults, and also in the UU University Group on campus.
