  • Time: TR 09:30-10:45
  • Place: W 149 note the room change!
  • Instructor: Bernard M.E. Moret.
  • Email: moret@cs.unm.edu
  • Office: EECE 236C (ext. 75699)
  • Office Hours: TR afternoons; otherwise by appointment (if my door is open, however, you are always welcome to come in!)
  • Text: Moret, B.M.E., and H.D. Shapiro, Algorithms from P to NP, Volume I: Design & Efficiency. Benjamin Cummings, 1991.
  • Grading: Graded homework assignments (6-8 in all), used mostly to tilt the balance between final letter grades, and 2-3 examinations (take-home), on which the final grade is based. In general, a student's performance towards the end of the semester is considered more important, especially if it shows improvement over earlier work.
  • Policies: Assignment deadlines are strict: late homework will automatically receive a grade of zero, unless sufficient cause can be shown. No make-up for homework or take-home tests, but if you are sick or on extended travel, I'll be happy to make accomodations. Usual university policies for withdrawals, incompletes, academic honesty, etc. Homework can be worked on in groups (in fact, I would strongly encourage you to do so).
