I've lived most of my life in Belgium, first in a little village called Weerde, just north of Brussels, then for 13 years in Ghent where I got both my engineering degrees. After 23 years of living in the same country and getting rained on, I decided to see some of the world and moved to California to get my MS at Stanford. I met some really cool people there, got hooked on Roleplaying, massage and sushi, and generally had a good time. After getting my MS, I worked for a year for LSI Logic.

A couple of years ago, I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to start my PhD at UNM. The landscape and the weather here is great. Haven't done as much hiking around as I would like. I also haven't gotten back into roleplaying yet, which might be a good thing. I have started playing squash again though, slowly getting back into shape after 3 years of not playing.

Let's see... other hobbies: collecting belgian beer bottles, reading Science Fiction, wind surfing and web surfing (although admittedly more of the latter lately ;-), Continuum and Feldenkreis lessons (two body-awareness disciplines), garage sale hunting, sleeping in... I'm also into Ballroom dancing, and getting seriously hooked on Argentine Tango.

That's the "unofficial" bit. If you want to know more about my research and such, have a look at my Chicken Page ( ..." Chicken Page"??).
