2007 cs591: Networks and Distributed Systems

The CS department's Comprehensive Exams page with general information, and information about all three parts of the exam.

These pages are meant to help UNM CS students prepare for the systems portion of the Ph.D. comprehensive exam. They grew out of a special topics class I taught in the Fall of 2007. To select study topics and help students get ready for the comps, I collected all previous systems exams I could find, cataloged them, and assigned a weight to each question.

The weight is based on how many questions a given topic has received in the past, how long ago these questions were asked, and how many points they were worth. In other words, I wanted to find the topics that seemed most important to the system comps.

Use the side panel to navigate these pages. They are still under construction and I plan to add links to other resources; e.g., papers, books, and web sites that contain information about material covered in the systems comps.
