Remote Handlers

Remote handlers are used extensively in client-server applications and network file systems. With the advent of high-speed and low-latency networks it has become apparent that the software overhead required to transfer messages has to be reduced significantly to take advantage of the new hardware technologies. We look at active messages, Intel NX, and Puma portal event handlers in MP systems, as well as methods employed in workstation environments.
