4/9/04 - My has time flown

My goodness, time sure has flown these last couple of months... and sooooooo much has happened. Geesh I'm not sure if I can even remember everything, so I'll just highlight some of them. Let's see: Stacy graduated; I met a great guy named Ian and I had the privilege of being his girlfriend, but unfortunately since then we have broken up; I got in a minor car accident; My cousin Lindsay got married; I am in the middle of buying a brand new home - which is taking forever to get the details nailed down by the way.... arrgggg!; I just received a 5 year certificate for working at Sandia (has is really been that long!); work has been mooooore than stressful and very demanding - mentally, physically, and emotionally; my family is preparing to put our puppy Cody down in a month or less; my grandpa in Iowa has been very sick; my cousin is in Iraq near all the action and being shot at frequently; my kitties are being quite the pests and doing things like falling off the balcony and opening all the cupboards, etc... (they are both fine and perfectly healthy and quite chunky by the way); Stacy is dating a friend she knew in Texas, Ryan, and they are very serious... who knows they may be married before I post again! just kidding :); my mom's job situation has been even more stressful than what I have been experiencing, maybe even to the point where she may have to find a new job, or re-invent her position where she's at or some such nonsense. Managers can be quite the pain! Hmmm... well, I think I just entered a venting post more than anything else... sorry about that! I'll leave you with a couple of fun(?) despair.com sayings: "MISTAKES: It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others." and "BURNOUT: Attitudes are contagious. Mine might kill you." Well, on those encouraging notes.... bye!

8/28/03 - Kitties!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I finally did it, I am now the proud owner or two kittens! To make a long story short, I came home from our family vacation to Iowa with two balls of fur.

The bigger tabby kitty is Sonora, and the little grey kitty is (we tentatively named him) Gandalf the Grey.

4/18/03 - Happy Easter

Wow, I think I just made a new record for not updating!! :)

Basically I just wanted to wish everyone a very HAPPY EASTER!!!

Things have been kinda busy lately... with the most exciting event being Stacy's senior recital down in Plainview. I am going to be putting up some pictures and sound files in probably a week... so come back and check them out!!

9/19/02 - Ho hum

Hmmm... Yup, I've been busy .... doing not much of anything! I actually took pictures of my car and apartment, now all I have to do is download them. But since I've been soooo punctual putting up all the other pics I've been wanting to post, well.... don't expect them up anytimme soon! :P I guess I've just been feeling kinda lazy and tired. You know, I never got a vacation this summer, or much of a break of any kind. I wonder if that has anything to do with my current state of blahhness.

Well.. I finally got the notice that my unm account will be terminated soon, but don't worry, I hear I can keep my cs account for as long as I like! :) So there will continue to be a webpage for me to (not so consistantly) update. To be continued.... tata for now.

8/13/02 - Cars, cars, cars

For those of you who check frequently for updates, as you've noticed, I haven't been very verbose lately, if at all. Sorry... ok, maybe I'm not.... hehehehehe :D For those waiting anxiously for me to write something, I guess I'll give a summary of the main happenings in my life :)

Well, this last month has been quite crazy. At the top of the excitement list: I got a new car!!! Out with the old and in with the new. It sure is purtty. :) It suprised me how fast I made the decision. Lately, major (and not so major) decisions have been taking me FOREVER to make. And then, taadaa... I went looking at some cars, and the next day I got one! Let's see, last night my family celebrated my grandma's 80th birthday! Happy Birthday grammy! And just this last weekend I went to some friends' wedding. And yup, I took plenty of pictures, so be expecting them. Plus a few weeks ago was my co-worker's wedding. Two down and two to go. Fun times :)

On a note of sadness, Stacy goes back to school in two weeks :( She's been a great roomie, and I'm gonna miss her. We'll see how I survive without her. Hey, I might even update this page more often out of pure boredom ;) As always, I've been wanting to revamp my webpage, but the inspiration just isn't hitting me :( Any bright ideas out there? Yeah, well I see how it is, just keep all the good ideas to yourselves ;) Actually I think things are finally starting to slow down for me. I'm hoping to get to spend more time with friends and hang'n out, but we'll see what happens. On that note, I bid you good day (or night, whenever you happen to read this)!

7/2/02 - Moving Time

Ok... yes, it has been quite a while since I last made any additions to my webpage. After numerous complaints, I thought I'd make a little effort while I had a free moment. Lots of thing have transpired since my last weblog, so shall I begin?

Let's see...

My job offer finally came through, and I am now an official employee, and not just a student intern anymore! But, unfortunately with that comes the 40 hour week schedule (which I'm having a hard time adjusting to).

Yup... you guessed it, I moved out!! Yes, I finally have an apartment of my own. ((jumps up and down with excitement)) I ended up getting a one-bedroom apt, with Stacy staying with me too. Couldn't ask for a better roomate ;) Fortunately, the bedroom is big enough to squeeze in two beds. You know when you move out for the first time, you need a LOT of stuff. Before, during, and after I moved in, I did a lot of shopping. Whew, shopping sure is draining, but I guess it's more the decision making part that really does the most damage :) I think I've almost got everything I absolutely need to cook, clean, do laundry, etc... I just got a couch the other day (you know those camping chairs start to get uncomfortable like after the second day!), so now all I need now is a TV and VCR/DVD or whatever I decide to get. Also on the agenda is a cell phone and a new car! Yikes... more decisions! :)

5/18/02 -It is finished!

Wow, a lot has happened these last couple weeks. Let's see, how about a summary:

On May 9th, as Charis's weblog has noted, I got a nice surprise for my birthday (pictures coming soon). I though I was just going out to eat with a couple of my friends, but unknown to me, I was in for a surprise. We had decided to get all dressed up just for the fun of it. So... we were taking pictures when a limo (Thanks Cecil!) pulls up... and not only that, it was full of friends. They got me good! Fun times :) Even though I am another year older I still think I act more like my shoe size!

On May 11th, I graduated!!!! Yippeeeeee!! :) It was really neat that family from Iowa, Texas, and California flew in to see me graduate! And boy was the house full :) It was wonderful seeing everybody again. And yup, expect pictures soon too!

Hmm... let's see, what else. During the week, one of my good friends from Wayland, Bessie, came down and stayed with me for a couple of days. It seems like everybody is making a special effort to come see me... I feel so loved! To top off all the craziness from graduation stuff, one of my good friends, Zack, got hurt pretty bad, so I've been visiting him too. I'm just glad that the week is over! And today I went to my last graduation party at Tara's. In the near future... apartment hunting here I come! I can't believe that I haven't had a chance to start looking, but then again, yes I can :) Wow, it doesn't feel like I'm totally done with school, and now getting ready to start a full time job. I guess I'm on my way to becoming a full-fledged adult. That just sounds scary!

5/2/02 - Almost there... :)

Wow, I can't really believe that today was my last day of class... EVER!! (well unless I decide to go for a master's) And today was the last CRU :( Although I still might drop by during the next semester. No more homework for me! Yiippeee! I can't believe I'm almost there, just a week away from getting my degree. Wow.

3/31/02 - Happy Easter!!! :)

Ok, ok... I know it's been FOREVER since I've updated my little ramblings. Well (here come the excuses) I've been busy with school, work, social activities, sleep, goofing off... you get the idea :)

First things first... I thought I'd make a special effort for the most awesome day of the year!! A living Christ is definitely a reason to celebrate!!!! I got to spend some nice quality time with my family. Plus I got to see Stacy again! She always makes me smile, and helps me through all the bad times in my life. I thank God continuously for her!!

Hmmm... let's see, there seems to be a lot of time that has passed - by the way where did it go!?!? I want to wish a happy birthday to Mark and Josh (a little late I know, but hey, better late than never.) There sure were a lot of birthdays lately! Guess what? Someone thinks I'm cool! :) I can't believe that the semester is almost over, just a few more weeks, and that's it!! I just got my cap and gown recently and my invitations just arrived this weekend. I'm so excited, my aunt from Iowa is planning on comming down for my graduation! :) As a way of update.. it's looking like my job situation is looking more secure by the minute! A big THANKS to those who have been praying about it! With that situation looking up and up, I can start seriously thinking about an apartment. But I probably won't be free enough to actually look yet.

I've got cabin fever... I'm going quite insane... Ok, not quite, but close ;) Hmmmm... at least UNM cabin fever - I gotta get out.... NOW!!! hehehehe Please? :)

1/15/02 - Happy New Year!!! Just a little late :) Wow how time flies!! It seems like I just got back from DCC (Denver Christmas Conference) with Cru. Now that was an amazing week!!! So much happend, it's kinda hard to sum it all up. But here goes....

I had an awesome time! The worship and speakers were great - you could feel God working in peoples lives (including my own!) I especially enjoyed Rebecca Gilmer and our women's session. But the most touching moments were the times when I got together with some good friends to talk. :) Not only did I enjoy the heartfelt moments, but I also had a LOT of fun!! Hmmm... let's see: nerts games, human uno, just plain goofing off :), and I even got to swing dance!! I also got to get to know some people better and made new friends. The only thing I didn't get much of was sleep, but it was worth it! In one word.... Wow!!! By the way, take a look at some of the pictures I took.

On another note... school started yesterday!!! I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing yet. I'll let you know once things start getting hectic ;)

12/21/01 - MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :) Like my Christmas tree? It's been busy, busy, busy here on the homefront. Helping decorate the house, wrapping presents, goin' shoppin'... Hopefully things will start to slow down so I can have time to relax or play!! ;) Yeah, that sounds good. I'm planning on getting a few items that will help out in that arena :) Does anybody else find that the older you get, the more you just go out and buy your own presents, and then they pay you back? Geesh, no suprises - but you do get what you want. Soooooo, I guess it balances out! :)

12/12/01 - Page updates: I finally put up my halloween pics! Plus, I posted a few pictures of my swing stuff - but there's going to be a lot more pics and QT videos in the very near future.

In the words of Braveheart... FRRREEEEEDDDOOOMMMM!!!! :) Yup, finals are over!! and I'm free at last. (well until next semester that is) I do want to wish those of you lucky people graduating this semester a heart-felt Congratulations! This semester has probably been the worst semester so far (academically), so I'm glad it's finally done. It's been really hard to be motivated for classes that seem to have no bearing on what I'll be doing in the future. I'm blaming it all on a bad case of senioritis (have no idea how to spell that one) Yeah, that's the reason... Anyways, I can now concentrate on the important things - like friends!!! My grade/classes won't matter in the long run, but my relationships with people are what last!! What's that saying... only three things are eternal: God, his Word, and people. It doesn't say anything about tests and homework!! :) AAHHHH, sigh of relief :) :) On a totally different topic... What's with the snow anyways? I get up one day, and suddenly everything is white! Kinda cool. My first thought was: Cool, two hour delay for my final!!! But then I realized, it was only bad close to my house. No such luck :( Guess what Christmas is almost here!! (just thought you'd like to know!!)

12/6/01 - T minus three days and counting!!! (well, three more class days that is) Last night was a lot of fun. My Flamenco class did their end of the year performance... and if I do say so myself, we did pretty good!! :) One of my friends got to come down and see me, as well as one of my co-workers... I was kinda nervous. You know, it's hard to dance (and stomp) when your knees feel like jelly! I got some video footage of it, so I'll have to put it up on my page!! (well, after I get up some pics from halloween and swing dancing) or maybe before. :) I also got some footage of swing dancing, but alas, my photographer took the videos sideways to get a better shot etc, and I just found out that it's not a piece of cake to just flip the Quicktime movie over like you would a picture. So... I'll just have to do it again!! :) This time we'll know better :)

Geesh, is it just me, or am I becoming obsessed with taking pictures ever since I got my digital camera. It's quite addicting... you can take as many pictures as you want, and just print out the ones you want (or post on a web page).

12/4/01 - Hola!! It's crazy to think that there are only a handful of days left... you could count them on one hand (or two if you have more than two days of finals next week)!! Yiippeee :) I'm looking forward to my Flamenco performance thingy tomorrow. If you'd like to find out what all the stomping is about, feel free to come! (It's Wed at 4:00 in the Carlisle Gym - south arena - and of course it's free) Besides that, I'm really not looking forward to the other end of the year activities. You know how fun those finals are... and studying, well, I just get so excited.. NOT!!!! :P On another note, lalalala, I need to get busy Christmas shopping. Choices, choices... too many choices. I have to figure out what to get for my family, friends, and my family keeps bugging me about what to get for me. Anybody have any great gift ideas to request? Within reason now... ;)

11/29/01 - And the countdown begins!!! There's just a couple of weeks left, so little time, so much studying to do! :) Thanksgiving break was nice; got to spend time with a bunch of my family, played some Nerts (card game) with a group of Crusaders, didn't do any studying... ahhh yes, fun times :) I think over the weekend I must have eaten a pumpkin pie or two just by myself. Let's see, had some pieces before Thanksgiving, had a couple on, and yup, my mom made some more afterwards, where I ate two pieces a day! Good stuff! YUM! Now I have to figure out what classes I'm taking next semester. Decisions, decisions.... It's looking like I'm gonna have a night class every night but Friday. Icky!!

11/27/01 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY STACY!!!!! :) I love ya!! Thank you for being the best sister anyone could ever have. Thank you for your prayers, the long midnight chats ;), the silliness, and the friendship!

11/21/01 - Happy Thanksgiving!!!! Yippee! it's finally here - well, in thirty minutes anyways :) It's been busy these last couple of weeks, and just a few more to go... . One of these days I'll get the Cru halloween pics up, but who knows when that will be. In the mean time check out Cru's pictures. On an upnote... Stacy (my sister) got home yesterday. I've been looking forward to seeing her smiley face all weekend. It's so much more fun with her around. :) I think we share the same brain sometimes, it's almost scary! It will be so nice to be able to relax and have some good family, quality time. Ahh, Thanksgiving, a time to reflect on the things we are thankful for. I know God sure has blessed me so abundantly, so much more than I deserve. My loving family, a great nation that I live in, wonderful friends, the list goes on and on... and on the top of that list is being thankful that we are loved by God! Wow, so much good stuff ;)

10/25/01 - Hola!! :) Yes, yes, I know I haven't updated in like forever! But look... here it is!!! Anyways, I actually changed my About Me page. I think it's a little more informative than before, but not really :) I was planning on putting pics of the Balloon Fiesta up, but haven't gotten the chance. Maybe next week! ;)

Yup, it's been busy, busy, busy. I thought I'd have this week to catch up and do fun stuff, like work on my page... but nnnoooo. Although, some of the time I did get to do fun stuff: like go to the Flamenco show last night with my friend, and be stiff and sore all week long because I overdid it swing dancing ;) Hmmmm... I see a trend here - fun times doing dancing stuff (and not homework) Maybe I should change my major to Flamenco!! :) but then again, maybe not.   c/'c/'

10/10/01 - Updates: Well, obviously I changed the picture on my front page (again). Last weekend went by too fast. My sister got to come home and visit - the first time this semester I think... Yeah!! I miss my sis :) It would have been nice to spend more time with her, ah, but such is life. Plus Cru had a special photo scavenger hunt. It was fun - a little wet from the duck pond - but fun. :)

I can't wait for fall break!!!! Yippee!

10/4/01 - Updated: I finally added my cousin Adam to my Family Pictures - he's the one that stopped by on his way to his base in California, the marine. Also, mucho pictures of Fall Getaway. You can also check out some more pics on the Cru page. Unfortunately I couldn't put all 60 of the pics I took up (plus some didn't turn out), so here's just a couple to get a rough idea of the fun I had :)

Guess what? My sister is coming home this weekend! :) YEAH! It's been a while so it'sa gonna be fun :) Well... I guess that's all for now!

9/27/01 - Yup, it was a great weekend and a busy week! Fall Getaway was awesome!!!! I got to go to Glorieta last weekend with Cru!!! Yiipppeee, hurray!! (Can you tell I had a great time?) It was so nice to get away for a few days and spend time hanging out with God and my buds :) I'd have to say the best time I had was during the women's small group time - WOW!! Plus... staying up late talking about good stuff with my fellow roommates :) I took quite a few pictures too, so I'll probably have them up sometime soon. Don't despair!! But unfortunately, I had tests waiting for me when I got back :( AAHHHHHHH - anyways, they're over now and I am soooooooo relieved! I can get back to doing fun stuff instead of studying and stressing out.

By the way, I changed the background pic cause I was getting numerous complaints from the very large audience.

9/20/01 - Geesh it has been a busy week! And next week won't be any slower either. Let's see... I got to help move a friend into his appartment Saturday... which got me thinking again how much I'm looking forward to getting my own place. I've decided that once I graduate... I'm outta there!! (meaning out of my parent's house) Anyways, my cousin from Iowa got to stay with us Monday night on his way back to his base in California. He's a marine in case you're wondering. It was nice seeing him agian, especially if he gets involved in the upcoming war. That's kinda scary!!!

I'm gonna have a lot of fun this weekend... Cru Fall Getaway!!! Yiipppeee! :) I get to go to Glorieta with some of my friends and spend time in the great outdoors - having fun, and worshiping my Lord and Savior. What could be better?! I'll be sure to take lots-o-pics! Just to warn you in advance ;) But unfortunately, I have some tests waiting to be studied for when I get back. :( Bad tests, bad!!! Wouldn't school be a ton less stressful without yucky tests?? And you would learn more too... stress kills off those brain cells you just packed with very useful information... that's my theory anyways!!

9/11/01 - Updates... Um, no new site updates - although I am brain storming on how I would like to change a bunch of things. Except right now, the storm is just a couple drops on the head (or it could be a bird...?)

I'm still is a state of shock about today's events!!! My dad calls me this morning as I'm getting ready to go to school, and to tell me that the Twin Towers have be demolished by terrorists!! I can't get over how tragic it all really is!!! :( :( All those people... and now all I can think of is how close we really are the End Times.

I had a lot of fun this weekend at TJ's going away party. (Good luck in Englad TJ, and have fun!!!) Everyone was in a goofy mood again, just being silly! And if you read Brian's and Charis's weblogs, you can get there side of the story ;) I don't know how you guys come up with such silly giberish - but it's quite amusing ;) Then later a bunch of us played video games, a fighting type game (sorry I don't remember the name of it) We were all taking turns losing, when all of a sudden, by sheer luck and lots of finger manipulation, I started to have a winning streak!!! I'm really impressed with myself, cause I don't know the button combinations for special moves, so I just hit all the buttons at once, really really fast (hence the blisters on both of my thumbs!) I guess there's something to be said about effort vs. skill ;) Well, I guess that's all I can come up with at the moment - as I should be doing homework right now, but as usual, I'm procrastinating

9/8/01 - Updates... New Pictures!!!! I finally put up the Ice Blocking pictures. Now that was definitely something I've never done before!! Take a look see :) Since it's like midnight right now, I guess I should go to bed, and I don't think I could come up with any interesting things to say, so you'll have to just be satisfied with pictures!

9/1/01 - Updates... added stuff to my Oragami page - look for the link on my About Me section..... and new background picture!!! (As if you didn't notice already) I took this picture the other night, cool hugh?! Then I added a "drawing/colored chalk" effect to it - just in case you were wondering :) Maybe I should put up the unedited picture so you can see what it really looked like. Should I use it as the background for all the pages? I'm not so sure cause it's sooooo bright! I was thinking of fading it or something first. Also, I have to figure out what color to make the text. Any suggestions?

Anyways, these first couple of weeks went by REALLY fast!! It's been kinda of fun so far. Not too much homework yet, and lots of fun CRU activities :) For example, a couple weeks ago, we went "Ice blocking". Now that was an experience!! (I'll have the pictures of that up soon, by the way.) I think that this semester is gonna be busy, busy, busy... especailly now that I'm helping out with CRU as a PowerLine Coordinator, along with school, work, and all the other stuff - like homework, sleeping, nerts games, goofing off, etc ;) Well, I guess I better stop now before you start to say to yourselves.. "who are you and what did you do with Renee?"

8/14/01 - Updates... New Pictures :)

This last week has been kind of eventful.... my Grandma had her surgery, and we should know soon if she has anymore cancer. Also, my cousin Shawna just had her baby, Abby Nicole :) - you can see her on my Pictures page. Well, summer is almost over :( and time to hit the books agian, get back into the swing of things, burn the midnight oil, ummmm..... well, you get the picture :D I guess I better sign off before I start rambling :)

8/3/01 - Update on my grandma: Her surgery is going to be this coming Monday... so please continue to keep her in your prayers!!!

Well, it's a couple weeks before school starts again, AAAHHHHHHH!!!!! Oh, well..... such is life :)

Anyways, for those who care.....you know who you are ;)~ I've updated my site again!!!! I've totally revamped my Pictures page. Check out the new and improved version.... I think it's cool! 7/23/01 - URGENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please keep my Grandma in prayer!! We just found out that she has breast cancer. I don't know when the surgery is yet, but pray that the cancer hasn't spread, and that the doctors can get it all. Please keep her in your prayers... we love her so much!!!

7/22/01 - Updated!! Well, just a little anyways. I added a Links page, with just a couple links on it. Also I added my puppy to the Family pictures page. More to come....

7/16/01 - I decided that I didn't like the banner and button pictures, so I changed them, again! :) I think I like these a lot better... we'll see how long it takes before I change them again.... I plan on re-arranging my pictures so that they're a list of descriptions with a thumbnail picture in front - nothing too fancy :) Sound good? Good! ;)

6/29/01 - Updates!!!! I added some more pictures... woohoo! :) I started the Friends pictures page (I have to remember to take my camera with me so I can catch some of you guys on film!!!). I also added family pictures for my Dad's side of the family - but I still gotta get a couple more before I'm done with them! Well, I guess I'm signing off for now. Maybe I'll come up with some cool ideas - but don't count on it!!! :)

6/21/01 - Building a web page is fun!!  I'm just running out of ideas at the moment :(  I've put some stuff in the About Me section.... and I still plan on adding some fun pictures, maybe some movies, sounds, etc to it still.  I don't know yet :)  Any suggestions?  Also, I plan on adding a Jokes section!  Cause I love silly jokes!  Ok, that's it for now!

6/19/01 - Okay, I decided I didn't like the background colors and pics so I changed everything :) I'm going to be adding a bunch of pictures (hopefully!!) really soon.

6/13/01 - I added a bunch of pictures to my Iowa Family Pictures!!!! Yeah! :)

6/8/01 - This whole site is still under construction..... but it's a good start :)
