I am a PhD student in computer science department at UNM. I work
in the computer security lab advised by Professor Jed Crandall.
Research Interests
My research interests are in computer security. My advisor and I have focused on designing novel network inference channels(idle scans), developing models of network inference channels that allow closed form solutions for packet rates, wait times, and other variables relevant to their use of network resources and potential denial-of-service, developing an information-theoretic model of network inference attacks that includes attacker assumptions and complex protocol behaviors.
To find out more about my research please see my research page and my list of publications.Teaching
- Spring 2012: Introduction to Cybersecurity (444/544)- Co-teach with Prof. Crandall
Software
- PF_SYNCacheIS: this is a PF_Ring based version of our SYN Cache Idle Scan presented at USENIX Security Symposium
- VirtualWerewolves: Virtual Werewolves is a Linux based, multiplayer game designed to teach Cybersecurity. Thanks to Mike Jacobi for all coding efforts.
