The Red Fort: Diwan-i-Khas
The most elaborate of the court buildings, the Diwan-i-Khas is built entirely of white marble. It was here that the emperor met with his advisors. Originally decorated with gems and silver inlaid with gold, and containing the peacock throne, it was stripped of its opulence by the Persian invader Nadir Shah in 1739.
