The Kanchenjunga Massif from Pelling
This was our first sighting of the Kanchenjunga massif -- the photograph was taken from the rooftop terrace of the Hotel Phamrong in Pelling. The dominant peaks in the center of the photograph, connected by a small saddle, are Kabru South (on the left) and Kabru North. Kanchenjunga is the more distant, pyramid shaped peak on the right. The Kabrus are a little less than 35 kilometers/a little more than 21 miles away as the crow flies. Kanchenjunga is an additional 9-1/2 kilometers/6 miles away.
