Welcome to my home page!
I am a Computing Innovation fellow at the Broad institute of MIT and Harvard. I am a joint post-doc in the labs of Dr. Aviv Regev and Dr. Manolis Kellis.
My research interests lie in the intersection of computer science and biology. I am primarily interested in the application of machine learning techniques to understand the complexities of biological systems.
A little history about me
I recently got my PhD in Computer science focussing on application and development of machine learning methods to address problems in Systems and Network Biology. My PhD advisors were Dr. Terran Lane and Dr. Margaret Werner-Washburne.
I got my bachelors in computer engineering from the Army Institute of Technology affiliated with the University of Pune, India in May, 2000. After this I worked for a couple of years at a software firm called Persistent Systems Pvt. Ltd. I got bored with just coding and came to UNM for a masters. I graduated with my masters in computer science from UNM in Spring, 05, under the advisement of Dr. Paul Helman.
A little about New Mexico
I really like New Mexico which truly lives upto its description of being the Land of enchantment. Here you have the priviledge of seeing a rare blend of the majestic mountains and the high desert. I especially like the clear blue sky and the magnificient sunsets and the best part is that these enchanting moments can be experienced on a daily basis.
