Ethete
After staying overnight in Dubois, Edna
and I drove to Fort Washakie where we left the main highway
for Ethete. In 1935 this road was the road to Ethete
and a dirt road. Ethete didn't look anything like I
remembered it - all kinds kinds of buildings, homes, a high
school. But when we drove into St. Michael's, everything began
to look familiar. The road consists of only one small circle and you
can see part it in this picture.
By the way, Ethete is pronounced ee' tha tee with the
accent on the first syllable.
