Store
What used to be the store in Ethete. It is now a parish meeting hall.
The store had literally bins
of candy. I used to fish in, take some out, weigh it and then pay for it.
It was also where Tim and I used to buy our cans of Prince Albert
tobacco to smoke in our corn cob pipes. Tim Tyler was the pastor's
son and just my age; we did a lot of things together that summer.
As a matter of fact I remember going to the big annual Arapahoe
ceremony with Tim. We were, I think, the only non-indians there.
We were allowed in because we were under the age of 12.
Tim and I both went to Harvard but he was a year ahead of me because
I flunked out of my junior year in high school and had to repeat the grade.
