The Rustic Pine Tavern
I couldn't even remember the name of this place but after we went
in and I ordered a beer it began to look more and more familiar -
especially the wood carvings over the bar. We then moved to a table
and had dinner.
In 1946 I was hitch hiking around the country and ran out
of money in Dubois, Wyoming. I got a job as general
gopher - doing all the jobs that no one else wants to do.
When you're out of money you have to get a job in a restaurant
so you can eat. I worked there for a couple of weeks.
This tavern opened in the 1920's and was still open in September of 1999!
A most nostalgic and emotional visit!
