A Cliff to Climb
Climbing Seboyeta Peak, with
Beo
, of course,
I had to go around this formation. It required
climbing down a steep slope, around and back up.
Interesting - people in the nearby town of Cebolleta didn't know the
name of this peak - I found the name in my detailed, 110 page map
book of New Mexico, 2.9 miles to the inch.
Note the two different spellings of Seboyeta.. My lawyer friend, Leon,
whom I see sometimes several times a week at the frontier, and, who
grew up in las vegas, nm, tells me that with the "old spanish",
soft c is spelled "s" and the liquid "ll" is spelled "y". I never
knew that until I mentioned "Seboyeta" to him last week.
