Oral Presentation
The order of presentations will be:| Thurs, 4/26 | Tues, 5/1 | Thurs, 5/3 |
|---|---|---|
| Devon Hjelm | Sylvain Bernard | Alex Woody |
| Ekaterina Davydenko | Scott Wittenburg | Aaron Kearns |
| Aleksandra Faust | Mohammad Arbabshirani | Kevin Williamson |
| Carlos Alvarez | Shaun Bloom |
Obviously, people who present earlier will be held to a different standard than those who present later. From later presenters, I will expect more nearly complete projects and summaries of nearly completed evaluations, etc., while earlier presenters will likely be giving "intermediate status reports".
You'll have 18 minutes total: 15 minutes to present and 3 minutes for questions. (This time will be strictly enforced.) Questions will be held for the end of your presentation, so you don't have to worry about being interrupted.
The axes that I'll be evaluating on are:
- Research content
- Your evaluation/validation of your methods
- Your response to questions
- Presentation skills (preparation, pacing, delivery, use of media, etc.)
- Timing (neither too long nor dramatically too short -- this is the easisest one to get points on!)
