Sunrise at Panding
The view from our next campsite was even better. The
peak in the center, the one that looks the highest, is Kabru South
[7,317m/24,006ft], a little less than 10 kilometers/a little over 6
miles away. Kabru North [7,338m/24,075ft] is to its right, a bit
farther away, with Kabru Dome [6,600m/21,654ft] further to the right
and noticeably closer. The Kabrus were visible from just about everywhere,
far more so than Kanchenjunga, and they became my favorite
mountains.
