Local Information for ADAM 2012

Under construction ... Last updated 2012-Apr-12.

Travel

Marquette's airport is served by both Delta and American Airlines. There are a number of car rental vendors at the Marquette airport, as well as taxi and bus service into town.

Flying into Green Bay or Milwaukee is often cheaper (sometimes much cheaper) than is flying into Marquette. Green Bay is about three hours by car from Marquette. Milwaukee is five hours away (perhaps a bit more for slower drivers). When driving up from either Green Bay or Milwaukee, the scenery begins to get gorgeous basically when you cross into the U.P. (really, it does).

Another option is Escanaba, Michigan, a small city about an hour south of Marquette, on Lake Michigan. There is a small airport in Escanaba, with daily Delta flights (and they may also now have American Airlines flights as well). Flights in-and-out of Escanaba are often cheaper than in-and-out of Marquette. And the drive up from Escanaba is very nice.

Hotel

We have special group rates for ADAM 2012 at two hotels:

Both hotels are a little over a mile from campus. Both are within walking distance of lots of restaurants. The Landmark is just above the water (with great views from the Lakeside rooms). The Ramada is roughly six blocks from the Lake.

Marquette is a tourist city, so there are many other hotels (some folks may prefer to do their own Priceline bids, etc.).
